The full body scanners installed in a selected number of airports in the UK have been a source of controversy ever since their installation. The gadgets that provide security workers with a detailed outline of the passenger, essentially a naked photo, have been making passengers very nervous indeed. The female worker is said to be totally traumatised in a hypocritical statement given to the Sun newspaper. While Airport workers insist that the new scanner gadgets are no more an invasion of privacy than a bag search, if their own employees find it such a harrowing experience, how are the British public supposed to react?
