Romantic Poems and stories of love to make your heart swoosh...

Valentines Poem by David Sayers
"Two days to go and I’m stuck in my bed,
Critical man-flu has gone to my head.
How can I show her that she is the one?
Can’t trail round the shops with my energy gone.
Time is against me, I’ve left it too late,
To get her a present and ask for a date.

The answer is Prezzybox, it dawns in a flash,
Great gifts are delivered for not too much cash.
With a click of the mouse my spirits are lifted,
The choice is so wide and the buyers so gifted.

It arrives on the day, and my darlings delighted,
Her heart warms to me and my love is requited."

Valentines Poem by Trevor Sherman
"Remember babe, when we first wed We couldn’t wait to get to bed
Your bra, my boxers on the floor,
The half an hour - and up for more!
But kids and nappies broke the spell
As knackered into bed we fell
And teething toddlers, cheeks flame red
Would lie between us now instead.

But all things pass - the kids have grown
We’re empty nesters, birds all flown
And nowadays it’s me and you
That’s something we’ve looked forward to.
And just like back when first we wed,
We still can’t wait to get to bed
So Valentine - let’s raise a toast
To doing there what we like most.

That’s crosswords, telly, crisps and wine,
Rioja’s perfect, Merlot’s fine
A paperback and chocs are bliss
And as we fall asleep - a kiss.
I love you babe - I always will
And though we’re way past youth’s first thrill
You’re stll the best thing in my life,
My Valentine, best friend and wife."

Valentines Poem by Dee Gaynor
"That day has come around again We singletons all fear,
And I was kinda hoping They might cancel it this year,
'Cos I'll sit by my letterbox With nervous apprehension
And end up like a nervous wreck, With rising hypertension.
Does anybody love me, Or will I be disregarded?
Will the postman need a helper 'Cos with cards I've been bombarded?
I think I know the answer, A way of dealing with my dread,
I'll crawl back up the stairs again And hide all day in bed!"

Valentines Poem
"I need a man -Who has the body of Russell Crowe, not Russell Brand.
The charm of Sean Bean, not Mr Bean.
The looks of George Clooney, not Wayne Rooney
and the discretion of James Bond, not James Blunt.
He must have the voice of Pavarotti, not Pasquale.
The talent of Gary Barlow, not Ken!

I really want to meet a date,
So please find one for me,
And Valentine's Day will be
One I Love and not Hate"

Valentines Stories

A Valentines Story by Alison Hayes
We met at a well-attended dance class, learning to swing jive, so our hearts were already pounding with the pleasure of the dance and the heat of the exercise then pounded even more when we were partnered up. We went for a drink to cool down and the rest is history.

A Valentines Story by Angela Ferebee
I met my husband whilst frequenting my local youth centre at the tender age of 14. I had seen him on several occassions, but on this particular evening there was a power cut and every male grabbed a female to fervently kiss. I ended up in his arms and have been ever since, now celebrating 41 years of marriage and still enjoying our smooching!!!

A Valentines Story by Alison Quinn
It was 2002 the night of my birthday and I was out with my friends. As we sat down for drinks I took off my coat and scarf but unfortunately they slid off the leather sofa onto the floor. As I went to pick them up, I was beaten to it by a handsome young man, who picked them up for me, we gazed into each others eyes for a second which felt like a hour and just connected and we have been together ever since!

A Valentines Story by Sue Buckman
Our eyes first met across a packed lecture theatre at Birmingham University in 1985. As our surnames were near to each other in the alphabet we ended up working next door but one to each other in the Chemistry lab. We had plenty of opportunity to chat as our chemicals bubbled and boiled away. We fell in love and got engaged on my 21st birthday and celebrated our graduation together.
