e, Monica from friends had her cheese house in France and if you can remember there was even a prince in ‘Willy Wonka’ who commissioned a chocolate house. See, it’s not such a silly suggestion any more is it.
Anyway, while we can’t really recommend exchanging your bricks and mortar for Choccy chips and syrup (especially with the housing market as it is) we do heartily recommend that you make your own tasty chocolate house with the Make Your Own Chocolate House kit.
It’s a great rainy-day activity for the kids, it’s also great fun for the adults too. The kit comes with everything you’ll need. There are chocolate moulds for the walls, roof and trees (yes, you can even make chocolate trees) and chocolate drops to melt. There’s also chocolate cement to stick it all together and a neat little garden scene to bring your house to life. To top it all off, you also get your very own Chef’s hat!
If you’re working with the kids, they can have a great time melting the chocolate in a bowl (with your supervision), mixing the chocolate cement, making the chocolate walls and drawing up the plans for their chocolate masterpiece.
Before you know it, your sweet pad will be complete. Just watch out for little nibble marks appearing around the guttering. How long will your house survive before it gets devoured. The best thing about this chocolate mansion is that you can re-use the moulds for another rainy day. Or maybe, you could make an entire village or city of Chocolate, the sky’s the limit!
