Cowhide Rug Description
Being an ethical company all of our hides are by-products of the food industry. So in essence buying a Cowhide Rug is no difference to buying a pair of leather shoes, or suede and leather furnishings.
All of our hides are carefully hand selected, and are "Chrome treated". This is a process of treating the hide, which gives it an amazing luster and shine, which also makes them highly durable, soft and supple. The other exceptional feature of this process is that it makes them very stable in water. They are quite literally the Worlds finest Cowhide Rugs.
Because of this "chrome treating" on the Cowhide Rugs, everyday care and cleaning is very simple. Dirt and grime can simply be brushed away, and liquids which may ordinarily cause staining can simply be mopped up and then cleaned with a damp cloth or even warm soapy water.
You can also use a vacuumed cleaner on them, although we recommend not one fitted with beater bars at the front, so just use the hose attachment, in fact treat them as you would any other natural product, and they will continue to look beautiful for many years to come, developing there own character and individual appeal over the years to come, much like a good leather sofa would.!
