Mathmos Thaw Description
Mathmos are famous for their unusual and beautifully designed lighting range. Both elegant and modern their ability to create mood and style is unparalleled. The exceedingly exceptional Thaw Candle surpasses all unusual ways to light a room. You literally freeze your own candle and watch it melt away creating wonderful flickers of candle light around the room (plus it's completely safe!).
So how does it work?
Place the water filled mould in the freezer for 8 hours. The ice then sits above the mould and the stainless steel collar and is illuminated by the candle from within. As the ice thaws the water melts back down in to the mould taking about the same time as the life of the tea light. Each time you use Thaw the shape of the ice, the way it melts and the way it holds the candle light will be different.
