Struggling to drop off to sleep is one of modern life’s persistent bugbears. For some people it’s worse than others but it’s pretty safe to say we’ve all suffered this irritation at some point in our lives. Drawing on meditation practices including focused breathing, Dodow works by helping to shut down overthinking and worrisome thoughts, transferring focus to an external object.
Designed with unobtrusiveness in mind the Dodow sits unassumingly by one’s bedside and once activated will emit a pulsing blue light. Breathing in time with the light allows sleepers to gently reduce overactive thoughts and brain stimulation, relaxing mind and body. Dodow helps to reduce breathing to 6 breaths per minute, with exhalation longer than inhalation. Once at this stage the mind is less distracted and sleep should be easier. Users of the Dodow have reported falling asleep 2.5 x faster than previously and, although the Dodow is unlikely to solve underlying sleeping problems, it will assist in the short term.
